Extraspace Solutions operates a group-wide environmental policy, to ensure that the effects of our actions on the environment are considered at every stage of a project and to minimise any detrimental effects.
Sustainability is a core value in all our products. We create buildings that:
- Have a low carbon footprint in design and construction
- Have a low energy use and environmental impact in operation
- Last a lifetime – Extraspace Solutions is Agrément Certified, and our buildings have a guaranteed design life of at least 60 years
Modular buildings and flexibility
By their very nature, our modular systems are flexible in design, and this further adds to their life cycle and sustainability.
Modular buildings can be adapted in size by extending by several storeys or back to back to increase floor spans without the need to put the existing building out of operation.
We can also assist clients in the relocation of modular systems if required.
Energy efficient and innovative
A growing number of our projects set the goal of achieving a design stage Very Good (over 55%) and Excellent Rating (over 70%) BREEAM rating for the environmental performance for new buildings.
The BREAAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) standard for best practice in sustainable design is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for modern buildings.
Extraspace Solutions continually strives to create and promote product ranges that minimise the environmental impact of production, distribution and construction. We are also developing innovative eco-friendly solutions through prototypes such as our green classrooms.
